Job summary

Burns & Wilcox, the flagship organization of H.W. Kaufman Group, is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter in New Orleans. You will build, maintain, and grow a book of business while serving as the lead contact for key agencies.

The role emphasizes rate and quote decisions for large or complex renewals, developing referrals, monitoring metrics, and guiding associates. Travel may be required; a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years underwriting experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience required, excess & surplus lines experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing.
• Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Interest in continued education and professional development.
• Travel if necessary to foster strong client relationships.
