Job summary

Burns & Wilcox, the leading wholesale insurance broker, is seeking an experienced Underwriter in Pittsburgh to build and grow a book of business and to manage agency relationships as the lead client contact.

You will create and execute comprehensive marketing plans to increase new and renewal business, and you will rate, quote and bind risks for large or complex renewals as well as new business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial lines underwriting or brokerage experience required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing.
• Proven organization skills and strong attention to detail.
• Insurance license, CPCU, CIC or comparable designations preferred.

Responsibilities
