UPMC Kane is hiring a casual Professional Staff Nurse to support the Clinic-General Surgery. This role requires travel/coverage between Kane, Johnsonburg, Sheffield, and Mt. Jewett clinics, and will involve providing Registered Nurse care under Relationship Based Care principles.

The position offers patient-centered care, teamwork with physicians and families, and opportunities to contribute to quality improvement and teaching. Compensation depends on experience and is guided by unit needs.

• Applies the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment.
• Formulates daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers individual needs.
• Demonstrates critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological and spiritual issues for the patient care within an episode of care.
• Practices solid communication skills and is able to articulate and translate the patient's condition to other care providers and to negotiate and recommend changes in patient care.
• Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers.
• Maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families to achieve desired patient outcomes.
