Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Casual Radiation Therapist to join the St. John's Hospital area and Fairview locations as needed.

The role involves providing ionizing radiation therapy as prescribed by physicians, following department policies and ALARA principles, and supporting patients and families through treatment. The position emphasizes flexible day shifts on a casual basis, with responsibilities spanning patient preparation, treatment delivery, record keeping, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited radiation therapy program.
• ARRT registration or registry-eligible must be maintained.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Continuing education in radiation therapy field required; ARRT registry within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed radiation therapy to patients.
• Verify patient identity prior to procedures.
• Prepare and educate patients and families for simulation and treatment.
• Schedule and manage patient treatment courses and notify relevant departments.
• Maintain treatment records and quality checklists.
• Operate linear accelerator and related equipment.
• Perform daily QA and report malfunctions.
• Train students in radiation therapy.
