Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist to assess and treat patients, develop care plans, and document progress. This casual role requires weekend shifts and collaboration with the healthcare team to enhance patient function and education.

Role includes potential instruction of PT students, routine licensure maintenance, and participation in meetings and in-service education. Acute care experience is preferred; CPR/BLS are required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Active license in practicing state required.
• CPR/BLS per AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge and skills for quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial assessments and develops treatment plans.
• Administers physical therapy treatments and modalities.
• Documents treatments and progress; discharge planning and education.
• Supervises PT assistants and rotates through treatment areas.
• Communicates patient status to the healthcare team.
• May serve as clinical instructor for PT students and residents.
• Maintains professional licensure through continuing education.
• Attends staff meetings and provides home instructions to patients.
