Job summary

UPMC Memorial is seeking a Casual Speech Language Pathologist to support the inpatient acute care population. The role requires two weekends per month and involves delivering diagnostic and therapeutic services, maintaining records, and participating in education programs.

Responsibilities include ensuring productivity, preparing time records, and meeting regulatory and licensure requirements while providing high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
• Must possess knowledge of normal human growth and development across the lifespan.
• Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret medical record documents.
• Strong planning/organization, delegation, problem solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Aims to achieve and maintain productivity to meet/exceed facility standards.
• Prepares necessary time records.
• Maintains current status of competencies for regulatory and accrediting agencies (OSHA, TJC, CMS) and licensure requirements.
• Pursues professional growth and develops in line with the mission.
• Provides speech pathology services to clients and prepares diagnostic/evaluative reports.
• Maintains accurate progress notes and records for patients.
• Coordinates evaluation, scheduling, and treatment programs for speech-language pathology services.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in education programs.
