Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois is seeking a Casual Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join St. Luke’s South Shore, offering flexible, per-diem hours and a minimum commitment of two shifts per month.

The role performs a range of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, requires ARRT/NMTCB certification within 6 months, a Bachelor's in Nuclear Medicine, BLS, and strong patient care skills; shift rotations may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine required.
• ARRT NM (N) or NMTCB CNMT certification must be obtained within 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including general and cardiac.
• Reviews patient records and physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications per clinician prescription.
• Performs venipuncture and peripheral IV placement for medication administration.
• Follows ALARA and safety procedures for handling radioactive materials.
• Maintains accurate records and labels images with patient info.
• Identifies equipment issues and performs QA tests.
