Job summary

The Library Associate at the State of Delaware will provide library services within a DSCYF secure facility, supporting students and staff with access to print and digital resources. Responsibilities include processing requests, assisting with research, and maintaining library materials, in collaboration with facility staff and the Administrative Librarian.

This is a casual/seasonal, part-time position (7.5 hours per week, potentially increasing to 15 hours) with no health benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Library & Information Science, English, Education, Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of organizing and coordinating library services and programs.
• Knowledge of customer service, providing prompt and courteous service to library users.
• Knowledge of narrative report writing.

Responsibilities

• Applies standard library practices including acquisitions, cataloging, processing, and circulating of digital and print resources.
• Researches and disseminates information to meet user needs.
• Assist the public with use of networked computers and equipment.
• Supervise volunteers in clerical library functions.
• Participate in library activities and professional development.
