Job summary

Young Brothers, Limited seeks an Inter Island Casual Deckhand to support galley operations, meal prep and stores retrieval for the crew. You will help manage a monthly budget, perform sanitation duties in the galley, and assist with seaman/deckhand tasks such as handling lines and towing gear.

This casual, on-call role requires adherence to safety standards, ability to work various weather and vessel conditions, and basic tools operation; a valid US Coast Guard credential is preferred along with

Qualifications

• Must have US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner's Document entry level rating with steward's department endorsement (FH).
• STCW 95 endorsement preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Two years meal preparation experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sufficient verbal, reading and writing skills for coordinating tasks and following instructions.
• Three years seaborne galley experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for crew members.
• Prepare store list and retrieve stores.
• Not to exceed monthly budget.
• Perform general maintenance in galley and on vessel.
• Perform sanitary duties in galley.
• Perform seaman/deckhand duties such as handling lines and towing wires.
• Perform duties as assigned.
