Job summary

Dickinson College is seeking a Bartender for catering/events to support Dining Services & Catering operations. You will assist with set up, execution, and clean-up of catered events and provide friendly service to students, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities include bar setup/teardown, serving cocktails and beverages, verifying IDs, and ensuring safe handling of alcohol. Shifts include days, evenings and weekends at campus events.

Qualifications

• Assist with set up, execution and clean-up of catered events.
• Must be 18+ and hold a current RAMP or TIPS certification for bartending.
• Verify identification and age requirements for served beverages.
• Prepare and responsibly serve alcoholic beverages including cocktails, wine, and champagne.

Bartender Specifics

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old and hold a current RAMP or TIPS certification

• Bar set up/and tear-down/inventory and proper storage of beer, wine and liquor

Marginal Functions

Occasionally work independently

• Proactively anticipate items needed for various functions

Equipment Used

• Carts, food warmers, ice machine, beverage dispensers etc.
• Other food service equipment, utensils, and dishes
• Must be 16 years old
• This position requires the employee to stand constantly and/or walk during the entire 4-5 hour shift, occasionally use stairs and work outdoors on an uneven surface. It also requires the employee to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Hours will vary including days, evenings and weekends.
