Job summary

PPG is seeking a Casting Technician in Sylmar, CA on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri). This role helps ensure that quality products are available when customers need them, and your work directly affects people's lives.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have mechanical inclination, and prefer experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments. You will set up, operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment and support junior operators.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
• Mechanical inclination and ability to use hand tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing production equipment.
• Set up production equipment and supplies; operate safely for production processing.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in safe working conditions.
• Inspect equipment to identify replacements, malfunctions, repairs.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance and support junior operators.
• Repair and clean equipment; evaluate performance and propose improvements.
• Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to move equipment; follow safety procedures.
