Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Huntsville, AL, is seeking an Engineer - Manufacturing Castings on the B shift to join our Operations team. You will own process quality for investment castings, analyze NCs, and drive continuous improvement in high-reliability space hardware projects.

The role requires hands-on experience in metallurgy, RCCA, and quality systems such as AS9100/ISO9001, with strong data skills in Excel and basic data mining. A B.S. in engineering and 7+ years' related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in production environment and quality systems.
• Knowledge of RCCA tools and quality improvement.
• Experience with investment casting quality processes.
• Understanding of heat treatments and metallurgy.
• Aerospace quality systems familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all process-related aspects of quality of Investment Castings (IC).
• Disposition of non-conformances for rework/repair/scrap.
• Improve and clarify written processing instructions for IC parts.
• Analyze metallurgical and NDT data for improvements.
• Develop reports using Excel/Minitab/JMP and interpret results.
• Lead data-driven process improvements to reduce NCs and cost.
• Collaborate with customers and train teams on quality awareness.
• Support new product introduction and process changes; coordinate with design and shell-process engineers.
