Job summary

El Cortez Hotel & Casino seeks an Unarmed Security Officer to protect guests, staff, and property across the hotel campus. You will patrol designated areas, monitor surveillance, and provide a visible, welcoming security presence while enforcing hotel policies.

You will respond to disturbances, investigate incidents, and prepare incident reports, ensuring safety and high levels of customer service in a busy Downtown Las Vegas environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in security or law enforcement is preferred.
• Must be 21+ years of age to obtain Gaming Registration and TAM card.
• Proven experience in a security-related role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and make sound decisions.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Pre-employment requirements: drug and alcohol screening (urine)

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises including guest floors, public areas, and back-of-house areas to maintain a visible presence and deter potential security threats.
• Respond to and investigate disturbances, complaints, and security-related incidents, such as thefts, accidents, or medical emergencies, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and necessary authorities are notified.
• Provide a welcoming and helpful presence to guests, ensuring their safety and addressing any security concerns or inquiries they may have.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, documenting all security-related activities, including observations, investigations, and interventions.
