Job summary

Sahara Las Vegas is seeking a Public Area Casino Porter to maintain cleanliness and sanitization of public areas across the property, including restrooms and high-traffic zones. You will follow OSHA guidelines, manage supplies, and ensure all décor and fixtures remain in place throughout shifts.

The ideal candidate has 6 months to 1 year in hospitality, strong guest service skills, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of hospitality experience in a similar role.
• Preferred experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel.
• Ability to work day, night, swing, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Continuously maintain cleanliness and sanitization of all public area restrooms.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, polish assigned areas.
• Use correct cleaning chemicals per OSHA and management requirements.
• Ensure décor, furniture and fixtures are in their correct locations at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness of trash cans, windows, doors and mirrors, elevators, floors, furniture and fixtures.
• Clean all casino areas, front of house, pool, spa/fitness, retail, restaurants, night clubs, exterior building, hotel entrances, garage and back of house areas as assigned.
• Replenish supplies in casino and other work areas as needed.
• Handle and dispose of biohazard material according to OSHA (training provided).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain knowledge of departmental policies, services, procedures and standards.

Job description

The Public Area Casino Porter cleans and services assigned area(s) according to standards of cleanliness set by management to ensure a clean, comfortable, safe and attractive environment for our guests. They adhere to all departmental and company policies/procedures and safety regulations.

Job Focus:

Focus is on, but not limited to the following:

• Continuously maintain the cleanliness “sanitization” of all public area restrooms
• General; Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, polish of all assigned areas
• Always uses the correct cleaning chemicals for designated areas/surfaces, according to OSHA and management requirements
• Ensure all décor, furniture and fixtures are in their correct location at all times
• Maintain the cleanliness of items such as trash cans, windows, doors and mirrors as well as elevators, floors, furniture, and fixtures
• Regularly maintain the cleanliness of all casino areas, all front of house, pool, spa/fitness, retail, restaurants, night clubs, exterior building, hotel entrances, garage, all back of house/offices, and or any area assigned by management
• Replenishes supplies in the casino area and other work areas as needed
• Handles and disposes of biohazard material in accordance with OSHA. (Training will be provided)
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance with departmental policies, services, procedures and standards

Desired Qualifications:

Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience within the Hospitality industry in a similar role or position

Preferred experience in a 4 or 5 Star Hotel

Must be able to work a variety of shifts including day, night, swing, weekends and Holidays

Proven ability as an outgoing, energetic and approachable employee.

Excellent communication skills with a willingness to assist any guest or fellow co-worker in need

Ability to communicate in English in both verbal and written forms is required

Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently

Must have extreme attention to detail

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi task as necessary

Ability to follow through and carry out all assigned duties
