You will plan events to boost revenues, manage inventories and equipment, conduct safety inspections, and lead staff development through training and scheduling to ensure timely completion of maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of general landscaping experience, preferably at a golf course.
• Ability to operate basic hand and mowing equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Casino Golf Course Superintendent L’Auberge Lake Charles

• Oversees and maintains the golf facilities, landscaping, and other infrastructure, ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment as well as the best public relations.
• Plans, seeks approval, and implements special events that enhance revenues.
• Maintains an awareness of the supplies, tools, and equipment needed to operate on a routine basis. Assists with ordering and maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Conducts routine inspections of all facilities and equipment, assuring that they are in working order, safe, and accessible.
• Encourages participation from staff. Develops ideas for innovation.
• Deals with the public and makes presentations as requested in a professional, courteous manner.
• Supervises and assures preventative and corrective maintenance on all equipment assuring for continuing availability of the equipment and for safety.
• Provides training or makes arrangements for staff training and as needed assuring for professional development and for safety.
• Schedules work assignments assuring that all required maintenance and other projects and activities are completed in a safe and timely manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This position operates in a working environment that is subject to hazards associated with use of pesticides and general landscape care products, basic hand and power tools, and gardening/mowing equipment. This position generally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, basic hand, power tools, and mowing equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, as well as all outside contacts.
• Ability to prepare and maintain clear and concise reports and records.
• Requires physical strength, stamina and agility.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• These skills and abilities are typically acquired through completion of courses in professional landscaping, along with a minimum of 5 years’ general landscaping experience, preferably at a golf course or similar facility.
