Job summary

L’Auberge Baton Rouge invites motivated team members to join its hospitality team in a fast-paced casino environment. This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest service and accurate transactions on the floor.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, be able to obtain a state gaming license, and be proficient with Microsoft Office. Prior money handling experience is preferred, and English communication is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of prior work experience.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid state gaming license.
• Experience with money handling and financial transactions.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver guest service by following Six Core Service Standards.
• Respond to guest needs and handle monetary transactions.
• Cash and exchange currency, checks, money orders, casino chips.
• Handle cash with accuracy and maintain cashier accountability.
• Assist with telephone communications to departments and external partners.
• Maintain confidentiality in all duties.
• Work with high-limit guests to ensure courteous service.

• Deliver internal and external guest service by ensuring every interaction includes our Six Core Service Standards (Look Sharp, smile & greet the guest. Be friendly, polite & use courteous language. Provide especially timely & knowledgeable service; and then some! Always find solutions to guests’ problems. Use the guest’s name when appropriate. Thank the guest and invite him or her back.).
• Respond to the needs of guests, and accurately handle guests’ monetary transactions; has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers.
• Cashes and exchanges currency, checks, money orders, cashier checks, coins, tokens or gaming chips for customers and employees.
• Handle large amounts of money, accounting for total funds received throughout the day and at the end of each day; maintains accountability over a cashier drawer.
• Perform numerous telephone functions to and from central credit, other casinos, and departments within L’auberge Casino.
• Open check-cashing cards (requires making credit inquiries).
• Works with high limit customers to ensure they are provided with prompt, courteous and friendly service.
• Performs all duties in a confidential manner.

• High school diploma or equivalent - One year of prior work experience - Obtain and maintain valid state gaming license - Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word) - Previous money handling experience preferred - Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts to practical situations - Must have the ability to read, write and speak English - Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests - Must have the ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and manuals - Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from guests - This is a smoking environment in guest areas and a non‑smoking, with the exception of designated areas, employee environment - Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
