Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer questions by guiding them through projects when necessary.
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, and warranty information.
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to guidelines.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers.
• Prepares register area at start and end of shift and ensures equipment functionality.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints tickets, verifies receipts, and signs loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and price match details.
• Records items used in the store on the store use lists.
• Monitors cash in drawer and daily reconciliation duties as assigned.
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates them to management.
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment and adheres to safety requirements.
• Operates store equipment as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
