Join to apply for the Cashier - Student role at Food City / KVAT Foods Inc.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing efficient and courteous customer service, including managing check-out procedures and ensuring the register is not signed off with a customer waiting.
2. Scanning and ringing customer orders according to company policies, crediting items correctly, and removing items from carts.
3. Handling and being accountable for all funds during transactions.
4. Assisting courtesy clerks with bagging groceries.
5. Maintaining a clean and organized work station and surrounding area.
6. Following all state, local, and federal laws related to alcohol sales, WIC handling, coupons, and various payment methods.
7. Using assigned tills properly and following company procedures for transactions and change.
8. Taking weekly produce tests and recording all not-on-file items daily.
9. Using the intercom appropriately and avoiding conversations while checking out customers.
10. Understanding and explaining the ValuCard program.
11. Assisting with light stocking duties and maintaining cleanliness of the front end and bathrooms.
12. Performing other duties as assigned.
