Responsibilities:
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with company policy.
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
- Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues to management.
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
- Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform all essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodations.
