Job description

Job Title: Cashier - Student

Join us to apply for the Cashier - Student role at Food City / KVAT Foods Inc.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times, including assisting customers at check-out. Never sign off the register with a customer waiting; always wait until relieved.
2. Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy and standards, ensuring items are credited to the correct department and removed from the cart.
3. Receive and be accountable for all funds for each transaction.
4. Assist courtesy clerks in bagging groceries.
5. Maintain a neat and clean work station and surrounding area.
6. Follow all laws and policies regarding alcohol sales, WIC handling, coupons, and tendering procedures.
7. Properly use assigned tills and follow procedures for change and transactions.
8. Take weekly produce tests and record all not-on-file items daily.
9. Use intercom properly and avoid unnecessary conversations during checkout.
10. Understand and explain the ValuCard program.
11. Assist with light stocking duties, sweep the front end, and replace misplaced items.
12. Keep bathrooms clean and perform other duties as assigned.
