Job description

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing efficient and courteous service to customers, including managing check-outs and ensuring the register is not signed off with a customer waiting.
2. Scanning and ringing customer orders according to company standards, ensuring items are credited correctly and removed from carts.
3. Handling and being accountable for all transaction funds.
4. Assisting courtesy clerks with bagging groceries.
5. Maintaining a neat and clean work station and surrounding area.
6. Following all applicable laws and policies regarding alcohol sales, WIC handling, coupon processing, and tendering procedures.
7. Using assigned tills properly and following proper procedures for change and transaction handling.
8. Taking weekly produce tests and recording all not-on-file items daily.
9. Using the intercom properly and avoiding conversations with other associates during checkout.
10. Understanding and explaining the ValuCard program.
11. Assisting with light stocking duties and maintaining cleanliness of the front end and bathrooms.
12. Performing other duties as assigned.
