Head Cashiers are responsible for greeting and thanking every customer who enters and leaves the store. They must be proficient with all aspects of the Cavender's Boot City cashiering system and knowledgeable of all related paperwork. Additionally, Head Cashiers maintain store cleanliness, respond professionally to phone inquiries, and support management with tasks such as stocking, visual displays, and basic housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Support the "Cavender's Culture" and promote our Mission, Vision, and Values
• Perform cashiering tasks accurately and efficiently
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area
• Understand and adhere to CBC policies and procedures
• Handle all cashiering transactions, including cash sales, check sales, non-taxable sales, credit cards, voids, and exchanges
• Record all sales and cash accurately at the time of transaction
• Assist in stocking merchandise and store organization
• Promote add-on sales and store specials to customers
• Arrive promptly, well-groomed, and appropriately dressed
• Remain security conscious at all times
• Provide knowledgeable responses to phone inquiries about sales, promotions, store location, pricing, and inventory
• Stay updated on current sale promotions and inventory
• Practice inventory control, especially for boots, and check for mis-mates
• Follow company policies on commission sales and validate sales tickets
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Collaborate with supervisors to understand actions needed to meet company goals (e.g., ADS, UPTs, vendor promotions)
