Job Summary

Processes Member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, upgrading, and offering several types of membership products, scanning merchandise, and accepting various forms of payments. Provides excellent member service efficiently and maintains overall cleanliness of the front-line department.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Understand all BJ’s Membership options, emphasizing renewals and upgrades to loyalty programs.
• Offer membership products, including renewals, EASY renewal, and Rewards redemption.
• Provide high-quality customer service, efficiently processing checkouts.
• Scan merchandise accurately, manage inventory, and assist at self-checkout stations.
• Collect payments via various methods, issue receipts, and handle coupons and promotions.
• Maintain cleanliness and assist with general housekeeping.
• Manage self-checkout lanes and assist members with technical issues.
• Meet cashier productivity expectations.
• Follow all club policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including cross-departmental work.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills preferred.
• Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.

Environmental Conditions

• Frequent movement on hard surfaces, including bending, reaching, and handling merchandise.
• Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
• Indoor environment with occasional exposure to temperature extremes, noise, and cleaning agents.

Compensation

Estimated pay range: $16.50-$19.80, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
