Job summary

Buehler's Fresh Foods is seeking a friendly cashier to manage checkout, handle cashless transactions, and assist customers at the front end. You will greet customers, operate the POS, scan items, bag groceries, and ensure accurate cash handling and drawer balancing.

Flexibility to work nights and weekends is required. The role emphasizes friendly service, speed, and accuracy, with training provided to familiarize you with store policies and POS procedures.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service skills; cashiering experience preferred but not required; training provided.
• Availability to work 20–30 hours per week, including nights and weekends, per department needs.
• Physical demands include walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and occasional 80 lb lifts.
• Reliability, flexibility, accuracy and speed in checkout operations.

Responsibilities

CASHIER:

Customer Service Clerk working on the Frontend and responsible for registering customer purchases at the checkstand.This person's primary duties require a thorough knowledge of check-out policies and procedures, and include greeting the customer; electronic register operations; scanning and/or hand ringing the customer's purchase; tendering cash and non-cash transactions; proofing checks; handling coupons, food stamps, and vouchers; making change; maintaining a balanced drawer; seeing the customer's purchase is bagged properly; working the FastLanes; and interacting with the customer to make the entire check-out process as pleasant and efficient as possible.Secondary duties assume related activities as required or assigned.

1. Availability: Must be available to be scheduled between 20-30hrs a week, including nights and weekends, based on department needs
2. Previous Work Experience: Outstanding customer service skills – Cashiering experience preferred but not required – We will train
3. Physical Demands: Walking, bending, stooping, carrying, loading, etc.; repetitive lifting to 50#; occasional lifting to 80#.
