Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to be the primary point of contact for customers, help set and maintain plan-o-grams and merchandising programs, stock merchandise on the sales floor, and assist with everyday store operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Duties include unloading trucks, building displays, rotating stock, assisting shoppers, operating the cash register, handling payments, and keeping the store clean and safe while following company policies.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases and bag merchandise.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
