Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the primary point of contact for customers, assist in maintaining plan-o-grams and programs, and stock merchandise to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking and rotating merchandise, building displays, helping customers find items, operating the cash register, handling payments, and maintaining the store's cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and process payments; bag items and provide receipts.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners; maintain store cleanliness.
