Job summary

TravelCenters of America is hiring a Cashier Lead to join our team at our New York location. You’ll be the frontline in delivering excellent customer service, processing transactions, and keeping the front-of-house clean, stocked, and organized.

The role requires 4+ years of cashier experience, solid POS knowledge, and ability to manage schedules while training junior staff. You’ll work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of cashier experience preferred.
• Computer/POS knowledge required.
• Register audits and safe counting experience preferred.
• Merchandising/stocking experience required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on great customer service.
• Serve each customer courteously, quickly and efficiently with a positive attitude.
• Process transactions on a POS register; maintain a clean, well-stocked area.
• Order, receive, unload product; stock, organize, and rotate merchandise on planograms.
• Perform cycle counts ensuring inventory accuracy.
• Perform end of day reporting (register audits and safe counts).
• Assist with creating and managing the team’s schedule.
• Train lower-level cashiers on duties and responsibilities.
• Prioritize work according to store and management needs.
• Know and follow safety guidelines and report unsafe situations.
• Establish strong communication with leaders and co-workers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
