Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is looking for a friendly Cashier to join our team. In this full-time role, you will operate the cash register, process payments, and issue receipts for customers, visitors, patients, and staff in a fast-paced food service environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6+ months related experience or training preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carefully enters all sales into the cash register to ensure that all purchases are accurately recorded.
• Makes change, accepts various forms of payment, and issues receipts to customers.
• Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Performs sales transactions in a reasonable and timely fashion.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a friendly, service oriented manner.
• Maintains cash drawer in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Observe customer purchases in the café line to differentiate between standard portions.
• Maintain, stock, and clean service areas as directed.
• Collect and record temperatures of food, service, and display areas as directed.
• Interact with coworkers to assure compliance with service standards and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

• Carefully enters all sales into the cash register to ensure that all purchases are accurately recorded.
• Makes change, accepts declining balance cards, and other acceptable forms of payment, and issues receipts to customers.
• Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Performs sales transactions in a reasonable and timely fashion.
• Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner.
• Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Observe customer purchases in the café line to differentiate between standard portions.
• Maintain, stock, and clean service areas as directed.
• Collect and record temperatures of food, service, and display areas as directed.
• Interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, and company inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.
