Job summary

University Health System- San Antonio is seeking a cashier to handle simple, easily learned cashier functions at the point of sale. You will accept payments, give change, safeguard money, and ensure accuracy in daily reconciliation.

The role requires at least 6 months of cashiering or clerical experience, good English literacy, and the ability to follow instructions. Preference is given to those familiar with hospital retail cashier competencies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is required.
• At least 6 months cashiering, clerical or general office experience is required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, do simple arithmetic and understand instructions is required.
• Six months or more of the aforementioned experience in operations similar to University Health System is preferred.
• Cashier must meet the UHS Retail Service Cashier competencies.

Responsibilities

• Carries out simple, easily learned cashier functions.
• Accepts payments, makes change, safeguards and accounts for money in positions with many small cash transactions.
• Assists in locating, reconciling and verifying the accuracy of transactions.
• Performs duties in accordance with University Health System and Food Service Department policies and procedures.
• Follows instructions from supervisor in carrying out regular and other duties required.
• Maintains good guest and working relations.
