Base pay range

$12.00/hr - $12.00/hr

Cashiers are the first point of contact for our guests and are directly responsible for delivering a great experience. You will take and enter orders, handle payments, keep the dining room and other guest areas clean, and provide excellent service by following standard operating procedures with a sense of urgency.

Duties and Responsibilities

The individual in this position is expected to engage in various work-related activities which may occur inside or outside the restaurant, including:

  • Complete all training requirements, including Zaxbys Front of House Development Plan, hands-on stations training, and any additional training required by Zax LLC.
  • Provide friendly, enthusiastic service for all guests.
  • Promptly greet guests as they enter and thank them as they leave.
  • Maintain awareness of current promotions and explain menu items, answer questions, and suggest additional items.
  • Accurately complete orders and guest transactions, enter guest orders into the POS system, accept payments, operate cash registers, and maintain receipts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, including cleaning guest areas and maintaining equipment.
  • Stock paper goods, condiments, serveware, and beverages, and keep work areas organized.
  • Prepare menu items according to standards and safety regulations, including beverages, sauces, produce, and other items.
  • Ensure food and beverages are handled safely, complete, package, and present guest orders accurately.
  • Assist with kitchen and back of house tasks as assigned and perform other responsibilities with a sense of urgency and safety compliance.
Job Qualifications
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work 32 to 40 hours per week.

  • Sit, stand, and walk continuously.
  • Occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, or climb, including the use of ladders.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Use hands and wrists for grasping and fine manipulation.
  • Communicate effectively through speech, reading, and writing.
  • Maintain effective sensory perception and judgment.
  • Work in environments with temperature variations and exposure to food and outdoor allergens.
  • Operate restaurant equipment safely, including knives and fryers.
