Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a friendly cashier to greet customers, process transactions, and promote Scheels Visa and digital receipts. You will balance cash drawer, assist with store promotions, and keep checkout area clean and stocked.

Prior cashiering experience is preferred, with a HS diploma or GED; a positive attitude and strong communication are essential for delivering the personalized WOW customer experience Scheels champions.

Qualifications

• 1–3 months of cashiering experience preferred.
• Ability to operate the computerized register and cash handling policies.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
• Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
• Ask every customer to sign up for digital receipts
• End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
• Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
• Operate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policies
• Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
• Keep the checkout area stocked and clean

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
