Newton Nissan of Gallatin is seeking an experienced Cashier/Receptionist to join our team. The role requires strong cash-handling skills, excellent phone and customer service, and flexibility to cover rotating shifts in a fast-paced dealership environment.

You will balance cash drawers, process payments, greet guests, and provide information while maintaining a friendly, professional atmosphere. Team collaboration and adaptability are essential as you support multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Previous cash-handling experience is required.
• Comfortable and accurate handling money and balancing a cash drawer.
• Must be comfortable answering a high volume of incoming calls.
• Strong phone etiquette and ability to professionally communicate with customers.
• Receptionist, switchboard, administrative, or similar customer-facing experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused personality.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and reliable.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Answer incoming calls using a multi-line phone system.
• Determine reason for calls and transfer to the appropriate department or person.
• Take accurate messages and communicate promptly.
• Page dealership employees for customers and calls.
• Provide basic dealership information in a friendly, professional manner.
• Greet customers and determine the nature of their visit.
• Provide a welcoming experience for every guest.
• Process and document customer payments (cash, checks, cards).
• Balance cash at start and end of shifts; reconcile discrepancies.
• Verify totals against payments and maintain records.
• Complete opening and closing duties.
• Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing paperwork.
• Prepare coffee, snacks, and supplies; maintain lounges.
