Reports to : Store Manager or Front End Supervisor
The purpose of this position is to create a sincere connection with our customers through polite and courteous service, while ensuring the appearance of the sales floor creates a desirable shopping experience.
Traits and Requirements :
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
- Eye-hand coordination to sort, grasp, color coordinate, and tag.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to read and write
Physical Skill Requirements :
- Lifting and Carrying up to 10 lbs.
- Pushing and pulling 4 - 6 lbs. or force
- Standing 90% of the time
- Repetitive use of hands-100% of the time
- Reaching overhead-20% of the time
- Pushing and pulling-30% of the time
- Bending and crouching-40% of the time
- Grasping items with hands -90% of the time
Working Conditions :
- Exposure to the public on an ongoing basis

- Flexible with scheduling changes due to store needs and sales events

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Customer Engagement: Provide customers with fast, friendly, and courteous service. Respond to customer's questions and/or take initiative to find answers. Greet and assist customers on the sales floor with eye contact and smiles.
- Assessing Sales Floor: When not servicing customers, walk the sales floor, straighten, and organize as needed. Remove trash from the sales floor.
- Processing: Operate the cash register, receive payment, accurately count and provide change. Ring up and bag items one at a time.
- Work Area: Maintain cleanliness and organization for safety and efficiency. Keep the area free of debris and ensure it is cleaned before leaving.
- Safety: Follow safety guidelines, clean up hazards promptly, and report hazards or injuries. Keep cash drawer closed until exchange of monies.
- Communication: Communicate courteously with customers, report issues or hazards to management, and collaborate respectfully with colleagues.
- Meeting Targets: Balance cash drawer at end of shift without overage or shortage.
