Englefield Oil Co. is seeking a friendly cashier to join the Duchess Team at Ashtabula. This role welcomes customers, handles transactions with modern POS systems, and keeps the store clean and stocked.

You’ll engage with shoppers and promote the Duchess Crown Card Rewards while ensuring accurate cash handling and efficient service. We offer FT & PT opportunities with flexible scheduling, 24/7 locations where applicable, and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Basic math and cash-handling skills.
• Comfort with technology and modern tools.
• Previous retail or food service experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling.
• Customer-focused mindset and willingness to help customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and friendly conversation.
• Process transactions efficiently using POS systems (cash, card, mobile).
• Maintain a clean, organized store inside and out.
• Stock shelves and manage inventory so customers find what they need.
• Follow safety and compliance regulations for tobacco, alcohol, lottery and other sales.
• Promote Duchess Crown Card Rewards loyalty program.
• Use technology to assist customers, track inventory, and improve efficiency.
• Other duties as needed, including standing, lifting, and reaching.

What You’ll Do

Welcome customers with a smile and friendly conversation

Process transactions efficiently using modern POS systems (cash, credit, debit, mobile payments)

Maintain a clean and organized store—inside and out

Stock shelves and manage inventory to ensure customers find what they need

Follow safety and compliance regulations for tobacco, alcohol, lottery and other sales

Promote Duchess Crown Card Rewards our loyalty program offering the best prices and offers to customers

Use technology to assist customers, track inventory, and improve efficiency

• Other Qualifications include, but are not limited to walking, standing, squatting, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Ability to work in demanding circumstances including variable temperatures, indoors and outdoors.
