Hearthstone BakeryCafe in San Antonio, TX is seeking a friendly Cashier/Barista to join our team. You will greet customers, take orders, and handle transactions at the POS with a focus on warm, personalized service.

We're open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM–2:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM–2:00 PM, giving you a reliable daytime schedule. No nights or Sundays, just a welcoming cafe where quality of life matters as much as great coffee.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, barista, or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic espresso knowledge is a plus; training provided.
• Strong communication and a team-oriented attitude required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional front-of-house customer service.
• Accurately process cash, card, and digital transactions at the POS register.
• Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, drip coffee, teas, and specialty drinks.
• Assist with food service, including pastries, baked goods, and cafe menu items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming cafe environment.
• Restock supplies, monitor inventory, and communicate low stock to management.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health code standards at all times.

Requirements:

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
