Job summary

The Olive Press Cafe in Provo is seeking a friendly Barista and Café Employee to prepare coffee and specialty drinks, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Responsibilities include taking orders, handling transactions, keeping the cafe clean, and assisting with food prep as needed. Must be available weekends and evenings; prior barista or food service experience is preferred.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
• Engage with customers warmly, taking orders accurately and providing friendly, attentive service
• Handle retail sales transactions efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, food prep stations, and equipment to ensure food safety standards are met
• Assist in food preparation and food handling tasks as needed to support café operations
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining quality standards
• Follow all food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff

Requirements

• Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with guests
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food preparation techniques
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in food handling and customer service
• Must be available weekends and evenings
