Position Overview

The cashier associate is responsible for increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing accurate, fast, and courteous checkout service. This individual maintains financial responsibility in their service lane.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Provide attentive, courteous, and friendly customer service, greeting and assisting customers effectively.
• Address customer concerns positively and escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Manage the checkout lane according to service standards.
• Inform customers of specials and promotions as directed by management.
• Accurately record sales, operate cashiering equipment, recognize all forms of tender, and give correct change.
• Stock front-end products, restock supplies efficiently, and minimize waste.
• Handle discarded or returned merchandise appropriately.
• Return shopping carts to the cart corral.
• Assist in training new cashiers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; report hazards or faulty equipment.
• Report theft, shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, or property damage to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Meet legal and company age requirements.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. or ability to obtain it.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
