Job Summary

The Store Associate supports the goals of our Stores by adhering to all procedures and programs outlined in the Operations Division of GATE. Responsibilities include participating in daily store operations, including food service, and ensuring all employees uphold GATE standards. The role involves active learning, participation, training on current and future programs, and monitoring progress.

Requirements

• Must be of legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco products
• Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and background check
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension) for effective communication
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform repetitive movements and work in varying temperatures

Job Knowledge

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Ability to operate a personal computer
• Understanding of company policies related to robberies and handling petroleum products safely

Duties and Functions

• Work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Arrive on time and in proper attire following GATE standards
• Attend training, safety courses, and meetings
• Report safety hazards and assist in maintaining a safe environment
• Follow all applicable laws and company policies
• Maintain a clean and stocked store environment
• Perform minor repairs and operate store equipment
• Handle payments according to GATE policies
• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers, address inquiries, and resolve complaints
• Operate equipment such as cash registers, lottery machines, credit card terminals, etc.
• Stock shelves, price items, and ensure proper product placement
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
