UR University of Richmond is seeking a part-time Cashier for its Dining Services. This role involves greeting customers, providing information, and handling cash and card transactions efficiently using a point-of-sale system.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate strong customer service skills. Pay ranges from $16.20 to $17.00 per hour. Candidates should be able to work various hours, including weekends, and must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
The Cashier serves as the point‑of‑first contact for all Dining Services customers, greeting customers and providing information. The Cashier operates a point‑of‑sale system to conduct cash, credit card, and campus card transactions.
This position is designated as essential personnel and may be required to be available to the University during inclement weather and emergency situations. The role requires long periods of standing and walking, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. in hot, humid, or cold conditions. The Cashier must safely use and operate typical kitchen tools and equipment, and may work outdoors in varying weather conditions on occasion. Youth aged 16 and 17 are not permitted to operate, feed, set‑up, adjust, repair, or clean hazardous equipment such as chopping or slicing machines, commercial mixers, power‑driven bakery machines, trash compactor, etc.
High school diploma or GED required, or in the process of pursuing a high school diploma or GED, which must be obtained within two years of hire. One year of cashier experience preferred.
Part‑time, non‑exempt, 9 months a year. Days and hours vary, rotating weekends.
Pay Grade 1: $16.20 to $17.00 per hour.
