Position Summary

Full-time positions at Clovis Community College are not remote positions and require a physical presence on campus to fulfill duties and college-related responsibilities. Under close supervision provide cashier services for the business office, includes receiving and recording payments, balancing daily transactions, preparing daily deposits and responding to questions regarding accounts.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Receive and record payments made at the cashier window for tuition, fees or other accounts.
• Maintain student accounts records, payments and notify individuals of delinquencies.
• Key data for the business office, regarding accounts.
• Balance cash drawer and prepare and verify daily bank deposits.
• Disburse petty cash, financial aid and student payroll checks.
• Answer questions concerning delinquent accounts, tuition, and fees.
• Verify inactive account receivables, NSF checks.
• Balance and replenish petty cash.
• Collect pay phone receipts.
• Prepare and verify daily deposits for required departments.
• Maintain and keep appropriate logs and records.
• ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Attention to detail Cash handling Customer service Point-of-sale proficiency with basic computer skills Basic math knowledge

Physical Requirements

Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, reaching above the shoulders, pushing and pulling of up to 50 lbs with the use of a dolly, and occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.

Schedule Details

Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to: Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Six months’ cash handling and customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in Accounting is preferred. One year experience as a cashier preferred.
