Juniors Supermarkets in the United States is seeking a cashier to provide friendly, accurate service at the checkout. You will process transactions, scan items, bag purchases, and help customers with questions, while maintaining a clean, organized area and supporting store tasks as needed.

The role emphasizes basic math, strong communication, the ability to stand for long periods, and proper appearance. Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred, and TABC certification is required where applicable.

Job Purpose: To provide friendly, efficient, and accurate service to customers while processing transactions, maintaining the checkout area, and supporting the overall store operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Limited or no prior experience
• Works under close supervision
• Focused on learning POS systems, basic procedures, and customer service.
• Basic procedures and customer service and still developing speed
• Communication skills.
• Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service.
• Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
• Issue receipts and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Bag or package customer purchases as needed.
• Answer customer inquiries and provide assistance with product selection.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Stock and replenish supplies at the checkout counter.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and security.
• Assist with other store tasks as assigned, such as stocking shelves or cleaning.
• Resolve customer complaints and engage with management when necessary.
• Promote store promotions and loyalty programs.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Additional Duties: Management reserves the right to assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations. Employees will be provided with proper training and protective equipment for any and all assigned tasks that require special handling.

Qualifications

Preferred Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience

• Cash handling experience preferred but not required.
