Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

The Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging, and assisting customers. They process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently, understanding the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy. They must understand and adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly and effectively to control loss. Cashiers/Checkers need to understand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs). They should report pricing discrepancies, follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons, stay current with ads, and adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures. They must create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products and store services. Lastly, they must comply with all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines, and be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
