Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Essential Job Functions:

1. Be visible, greet, engage, and assist customers actively as a Cashier/Checker.
2. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
3. Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
4. Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and/or overages, working honestly to control loss.
5. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
6. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
7. Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
8. Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
9. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
10. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues.
11. Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
12. Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers with questions about products within the department and store.
13. Comply with all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines.
14. Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
15. Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
16. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
17. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
18. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
19. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
