Responsibilities

Primary Duties

• Greets customers at the cashier counter in a pleasant and professional manner. Provides exceptional customer service.
• Computes customer bills.
• Receives cash, checks and credit card payments from customers; records amount received.
• Makes change and issues receipts to customers.
• Provides refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise or as directed by managers.
• Reconciles cash drawer daily.
• Works with department managers to keep abreast of new products and services offered, their features and value, and any changes in price.
• Refers customers with questions or concerns to the appropriate ASM/Service Professional or Parts Professional.
• Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution.
• Provides clerical and secretarial assistance to departments as needed.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Keeps work area neat and clean.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High school diploma or GED.
• A minimum of one year of related experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand, sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel.
