Description

The Cashier is responsible for creating a guest-focused environment while ensuring the financial integrity of each transaction throughout the shift. Responsibilities include verifying initial cash, answering phone calls, making coffee/tea, cooking soups, setting up displays, and managing the condiment station and FOH setup. The role also involves making beverages, stocking FOH, frosting cakes, cutting bars/brownies, and handling end-of-shift cleaning tasks such as trash removal, sweeping, and mopping. The Cashier may substitute for Expo, SA, or bussing duties as needed.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee, tea, and specialty drinks as a barista.
• Package sweets and cakes.
• Maintain and update displays based on the time of day.
• Set up and manage the condiment station and cashier station, including cash flow verification.
• Ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Answer guest inquiries about food offerings, allergens, and nutrition.
• Engage in upselling and suggestive selling.
• Frost cakes and cut bars/brownies.
• Maintain a well-stocked FOH area.
• Perform cleaning duties such as trash removal, mopping, and sweeping.
• Communicate effectively with guests and resolve issues promptly.
• Support company initiatives related to sales, guest service, and food safety.
• Follow safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform secondary duties such as food delivery, bussing, cleanup, restocking, and restroom checks.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State Food Handler Card/ServSafe certification if applicable.
• Minimum of 3 months experience in cash handling, preferably in a restaurant or retail setting.
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Proficient in POS systems.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
