Job Responsibilities
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash handling, loss prevention, and restricted sale items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report incidents to management.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering product questions.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information.
  • Follow directions, seek assistance when needed, and support customers with special needs, minors, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
