Responsibilities include:

• Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understanding the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various tenders, including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons.
• Adhering to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Following guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
• Reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Managing postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons per established policies.
• Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
• Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Maintaining equipment and notifying management of repairs.
• Creating a welcoming environment for customers, assisting with questions about products.
• Complying with all applicable laws and company policies.
• Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Managing conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
