Job summary

Mambo Seafood is opening a new Pearland location and seeks friendly cashiers to welcome guests and process orders. You will handle POS transactions, take inquiries, and contribute to a fast-paced dining experience in a team-focused environment.

Candidates should be 18+, able to stand long hours, and possess basic math skills. Flexible hours and competitive pay are offered at our Pearland location.

Qualifications

• Must speak and understand English.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with POS and cash handling.
• Team player with customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take orders in person and by phone.
• Enter orders in the POS system and handle payments.
• Process cash and provide accurate change.
• Assist with to-go orders and maintain cashier area.
• Support other team members as needed.

Summary:

The Cashier is responsible for greeting customers, taking orders over the phone and in person, and answering questions that customers may have. Cashiers are responsible for processing customer payments through the Point of Sales (POS) system. Cashiers anticipate customers’ needs and exceed expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Must maintain a professional and welcoming attitude at work and practice Company service principles.
• Greet all guests when they enter the restaurant.
• Communicate with customers regarding menu offerings, limited time offers and daily specials.
• Pack and sort to-go orders.
• Enter food and beverage orders into the POS system.
• Properly process customers’ payments and provide accurate change.
• Clean and maintain cashier area before, after and throughout shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to speak, write and understand simple instructions in English.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
• Must be Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Certified.
• Must have a Food Handler Certificate.
• Must be a team player and customer-service oriented.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Familiarity with POS system preferred.
• Basic computer skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Stands and walks on uneven, slippery, and/or wet surface for at least 8 consecutive hours.
• Speaks and listens in-person to staff and customers for at least 8 consecutive hours.
• Speaks through radio and listens through earpiece for at least 8 consecutive hours.
• Clearly observes customers in the dining room from up to 100 feet.
• Routinely lifts, stoops, kneels, bends, pushes, and pulls up to 25 pounds, and reaches overhead.
• Routinely carries full service tray.
• Performs moderately strenuous activity to perform duties for at least 8 consecutive hours.

Working Environment:

• Moderate noise, fast pace, high customer traffic and ability to regularly tolerate cleaning solutions.
