Job summary

Mambo Seafood Restaurants is hiring a professional Server in Texas. The Server will greet guests, take orders, describe daily specials, and ensure guests leave satisfied. The role requires strong communication, high energy, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Must have a Food Handler Certificate and TABC certification; knowledge of Spanish is a plus. Flexible hours, competitive pay, and meal discounts are offered at multiple Houston-area locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional and welcoming attitude at work.
• Adheres to alcohol service policy and safety procedures.
• Answers customer questions and recommends menu items.
• Takes food and beverage orders accurately and promptly.
• Enters orders into the POS system.
• Processes payments and provides accurate change.
• Ensures the bank balance at end of shift.
• Handles customer complaints in a courteous manner.
• Maintains cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
• Completes opening/closing duties and other server tasks.

Summary

The Server must be professional with high-energy and excellent communication skills. The Server serves food and drinks and introduces the daily specials and limited-time offers. The Server ensures that customers leave “Panza Llena, Corazon Contento®”.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional and welcoming attitude while at work.
• Adheres to the Company’s alcohol service policy, safety procedures and food and beverage policies.
• Answers customer questions and makes recommendations for all menu items.
• Takes customer food and drink orders accurately and promptly.
• Enters food and beverage orders into the point of sale (POS) system.
• Properly processes customers’ payments and provides accurate change.
• Ensures the balance of the bank at the end of the shift.
• Handles customer complaints or problems in a positive, courteous manner.
• Maintains a high level of cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
• Completes all opening and closing duties and other server duties thoroughly and efficiently.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Ability to speak, write and understand simple instructions in English.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
• Must have a Food Handler Certificate and be Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Certified.
• Must be a team player and customer service oriented.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Familiarity with POS system preferred; basic computer skills is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Stands and walks on uneven, slippery, and/or wet surface for at least 8 consecutive hours.
• Speaks and listens in-person to staff and customers for at least 8 consecutive hours.
• Speaks through radio and listens through earpiece for at least 8 consecutive hours.
• Clearly observes customers in the dining room from up to 100 feet.
• Routinely lifts, stoops, kneels, bends, pushes, and pulls up to 25 pounds, and reaches overhead.
• Routinely carries full service tray and performs moderately strenuous activity for 8 consecutive hours.

Working Environment

• Moderate noise, fast pace, high customer traffic, and regularly tolerate exposure to cleaning solutions.
