Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
• Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay informed about current and upcoming sales and promotions.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions and ensuring they feel valued.
• Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
